Pleased to Meet You

Blogging101 Daily prompt  In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Pleased to Meet You.”

When I was very young and used to watch cartoons like Voltron:The defender of the universe, Spider Man, BigFoot and so on, I wondered what it would be like to get all these characters to team up against a very bad guy or offensive creature. Later on I tried to imagine what it would be like to get characters like Iron Man, Bat Man, Bionic Woman and the likes in one film.

To my surprise, at the turn of the century, most of these cartoon characters were being transformed to life characters on blockbuster movies. And to my greatest delight, a lot of colabs are now taking place among these epic film heroes as well as detective series.

Talk about:

1. The Flash teaming up with Arrow.

2. The Fantastic Four

3. Hawaii-Five-O helping out the NCIS LA team

4. The Expendables

5. Just a few days ago, my daughter was watching Scooby Doo and I saw Captain Caveman helping to solve a mystery .

The list definetly goes on and on but the message here is, while watching these films, I noticed some initial ego-clashing among some of them but the main purpose of their coming together, which was to fight a common enemy, compelled them to work together and achieve their goals.

So, leaving ego and pride of past or current achievements aside, let’s really be pleased to meet ourselves when it’s for a good course.

  1. My father was manager of a “news agency” distributor of magazines and newspapers when I was young. Consequently, I learned to read from comic books of all kinds, and often imagined that the characters would meet…and of course, they did in the Marvel series. So, too, did Richie Rich, Little Lotta, and Archie!

    1. Oh yes! Like a dream come true for the little girls, and boys in us. Come to think of it, the guys that created these new series probably also first thought of the possibilities, but went further to make them happen. So, every dream can become a reality with a little effort at a time.
